About Mikey Chinchilla
Hello! I'm Mikey Chinchilla! I'm an avid hiker, traveler, seasoned musician, and the founder of Chinchilla Studios. Born and raised in Longwood, Florida, my obsession with music began at a very early age. According to my parents, I was singing before I knew how to speak - sorry mom and dad, I'm sure it wasn't very good back then. At thirteen I picked up drumming because I had, of course, the biggest crush on a girl in band, and her brother was a drummer. I ended up falling in love with music instead of the girl, and here we are! During my freshman year of high school, my father surprised me with recording software for my birthday, a gift that would ultimately lead me to my love of recording!
Living with my African pygmy hedgehog, Oatmeal, I now hold a marketing degree from the University of Central Florida and significant expertise in music production and performance, with training from award-winning audio engineers William Snyder, Eyal Levi, and Joey Sturgis; vocal coaching from singer, songwriter, and actor Evan Charles; and percussion instruction from Bryan Disbro and Willie Rast. Seriously, those guys are the best! I'm currently working on a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Massachusetts Global, focusing heavily on human resources, but I'm still just as music-obsessed as I've always been. Take a listen to some of my work, and if you like what you hear, hit me up!

Why "Chinchilla?"
This is a question I get asked all the time, so here's some key Chinchilla lore. In middle school I became obsessed with chinchillas. Not sure what that is? Click here. They were all I wanted for about 3 years. When I decided to create a Facebook profile, my parents always told me, "Don't use your real name online! It's dangerous!" Yeah, the Internet was still pretty new. Anyways, I decided Mikey Chinchilla was a safe bet. 16 years later, the Chinchilla name is still cemented in my life.
